Boardman River Clean Sweep
Final Downtown Boardman River Cleanup For 2024
September 12, 2024
Project #34

Norm and Jacqui M. shared the leadership duties on this project.

It was complicated for several reasons.

The FishPass Construction kept us from using the Hannah Park to launch and the Weir was closed which would require we portage
13 boats. So, we launched from the foot bridge just past the Weir and that worked well. We just had to launch one boat at a time.

Harold and I waited at the ramp to help unload the trash amd the City Parks and Rec picked it up for us. THANK YOU!!!!!

Then the paddlers worked on the shoreline between the Mouth of the river and the DELMAR Hotel and brought that litter
to the Sunset Park where we put it in a trailer to take to a dumpster.

The BRCS treated everyone to lunch at DON'S DRIVE IN with the help of a donation from Harold L. and we very happy he
was there to share it with us.

It was a really fun day but a long one and we were ready for a rest when we got done.

I am very happy to have been able to get to ALL the BRCS Boardman River events this year.

It was a GREAT Season and we still have plans for more work this Fall.
