Boardman River Clean Sweep
River Pitch to Shumsky Cleanup Report
June 13, 2024
Project #18

Ann Reichert and Jim Batsakis led this project today. They did a great job of planning and the volunteers that
came did a fantastic job of working togther to get some pretty difficult stuff out of the river.

There was not a lot of trash but this section is heavily paddled and we did find trash in the river. One thing was
a extremely heavy large havy plastic shopping bag of huge beach toilets that was so heavy that we had to cut them
out of the bag because two of us could not lift them. The other heavy stuff was made of lumber and we marked those
with our GPS camera so they can be removed at later date with heavy equipment, canoes and more experienced volunteers.

We all had a great time and we had no safety probelms on the river.

Followup Report from Jaquie Morgenstein - June 16, 2024:

I've found my photos of the large paint(?) drum in the Boardman. The
time stamps on them say it was less than 5 mins from the takeout at
Beitner. I have examined Google satelite and I'm almost certain that
it's 2 or 3 yards upstream from the obvious launch spot at 2277 Jorae Drive.

I attach the 2 most useful photos to help others locate it - or suggest
to the owners that they get it out
