Steve Largent alerted us to this project about 8 years ago. We had not gotten to it but it was not forgotten.
Today, Karl, Rick and I finally found this place with Steve's GPS help and we took care of it.

On the way to the dump site along Scharmen Rd, Rick spotted a large tractor tread that had been discarded
along the road. We stopped and rolled it up and put it in the trailer. It was, ironically, a Bridgestone.
It's ironic because last year, the Birdgestone Americas gave us a 500.00 grant to remove tires from rivers and woods.

Thank you to the Bridgestone Americas for their generous support. We will continue to work to remove tires and all
other trash and debris from our woods and water.

It took us only 30 minutes to get the 26 tires out of the woods and back up the 150 slope thru the woods to the trailer.

We took them to Junior's Tires for disposal. THANK YOU JUNIOR's.

And to BackCountry North and the Patagonia Foundation goes out a very special THANK YOU! for our beautiful
and fantastic trailer that carries all this heavy stuff like it is made of feathers. Since we got our Patagonia
trailer last year, we have removed literally thousands of pounds of trash from the woods and waters around NW Michigan.
