Boardman River Clean Sweep
Brownbridge To Shumsky
Large Debris Follow up
September 05, 2013

On Labor Day, I paddled this section and saw some more debris that had washed out of the
bushes due to a heavy rain the week before. Jocelyn, Paul and I decided to clean it up today.

Starting out.

We got to use the throw rope right away.

And the Ryobi Sawzall.

Pull it out and cut it up.

Paul was our work horse and did he work hard.

Watch what you're doing, Norm.

We found a lot of small stuff like this

I have hated this white pipe for a long time and now it's GONE!

Touch the flag for good luck.

We wanted to get these out of the river.

More small lumber pieces.

Jocelyn's favorite flower greeted us.

Paul spotted this old plywood piece in 3 feet of
water, so we got it and made it smaller.

Now we start to find larger pieces.

We offloaded these at Bob Summers house. Thanks Bob and Evie.

Lots of apples in the river.

More lumber.

More cutting of lumber.

Our distinguished and fashionable crew.

Loading the canoe trailer.

Going down the road with a heavy trailer.

Our total haul was about 600 pounds of lumber.

Thanks to Jocelyn, Paul, and Norm for helping to complete this project.
This river section is now cleaner than it was before the dam failure.

The lumber ended up in the dumpster at Scheck's Landing with the permission of the
DNR and at Ranch Rudolf as fire wood to heat their water and buildings.

Thank you to Jocelyn for taking so many great pictures to document the project.
Thank you Rotary Good Works, ACTU, AMEC and the DNR and all our volunteers!
